DID YOU SEE THE BEST GOAL OF CHAMPIONS' LEAGUE SO FAR?

Zenit scoring an amazing goal against Benfica photo
I mean this was something special the frozen players at Petrovski in Saint Petersburg delivered.
Back heel goals are quite rare in football, but two back heels in a combination with a glamorous post before the ball appeared in the net. Absolute beauty!
It is accepted to say, that early February matches in Russia are a reckless performance as a) the weather is by far lower than 0 degrees, which makes the pitch and player conditions ridiculous and b) Russian teams are showing up directly from their holidays, so lack of shape makes them tackle awfully.
Bang, bang,- said Zenith St. Petersburg to those critics today! A superb match!

IS ENGLAND BETTER OFF WITHOUT CAPELLO?

Yes. This is how the FA would answer.

Seems like the experiments with foreign managers have come to an end.
The results of the experiments are not satisfying. What else did they expect? I mean this is England we are talking about. Not South Korea or Ivory Coast, where people should have been taught how they play football in Europe. In England anybody in any pub can teach Capellos and Ericssons and others how their grandfathers played this game. They would dare at least. Go manage Chealsea and City. Don't touch the national team! "Oh noooo, who is treating Englishmen like this", would be heard no matter what the results were.

And even if Terry would have been the purest person in the world, this divorce had to happen and the experiment never repeated. Not now, as the FA would plan. A bit later...

But Capello is Italian. And he is Capello! Fabio Capello. Leave his work to him. Trust me, he knows how to do it. He is Capello. The queue to get him is already there. His image is not damaged. Actually no image is damaged at all. FA is going to get a new (read - English) manager and achieve positive results at Euro. No worries about this. And nobody is going to blame them for letting a big name leave THIS way. People never talk about arrogance. And nobody is going to discuss the national identity problems. England is not unique in this.

So everything is all right. get back to work.

And remember! A country with a World Cup star on the t-shirt does not need a foreign manager. And this concerns Mourinho as well. Think only about Portugal, Special One!

Just a year ago somebody was boasting, that the Italian managers turned better than the English ones, with Capello, Ancelotti and Mancini sitting there, where it is fine for an Englishman to sit... Are we sure City is going to take the Premier League this year?

AC MILAN - JUVENTUS

Martin Caceres and Alessandro Del Piero photo
Storari was confident, Giaccherini great, Barzagli fantastic and Pirlo - not worse at Caceres's dream  re-debut for Juve.

A question to Don Antonio: was Caceres anyway responsible for the right wing of defense or did he just have a perfect match at San Siro?

About Me

My photo
I am a professional football watcher. I watched the WC '94, when I was 10 years old and have had no success in quitting with this. I promised R. Baggio to give tribute to his Juventus and Italy team ever-since, as he missed that damned penalty. While watching matches I always try to analyze every fact before, during and after the matches. This makes me feel I am an expert. Everyone is welcome to start a conversation on any football-related topic. You would just make me a huge favour. Besides, I am a hopelessly lost gambler. A player, not only in the game, but also in life! I live in Denmark. I am married, which, of course, prevents me of watching football 24 hours a day. My daughter was born in 2011. This fact is neither a football-friendly one, but it does not disappoint me. I am making my first steps in professional scouting with one of the local companies. If this profile sounds something close to you, I would warmly welcome you to follow my blog, where you'll read about everything I mentioned above. I promise to post an article every week. Let's say Saturday. So here we go!
